Korana Svilar
Korana Svilar was born in 1982 in Zadar. She graduated in Croatian
studies and comparative literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. She has won a number of awards and recognitions for her short stories, which are assembled in the collections There is nothing to do (2015) and A Lizard's tail (2022). Some short stories have been translated into English, German, Italian, Macedonian, Slovenian and Ukrainian. In 2017, Fraktura published the novel Experiment by Irene Tot.
She works in Zagreb's 12th high school as a mentor teacher. She is one of the authors of integrated Croatian language textbooks for high schools. She participates in many projects aimed at encouraging reading among young people and is active as a cultural worker.
