Goran Samardžić

Born in Sarajevo in 1961, Goran Samardžić graduated in literature studies. He has worked as a journalist, editor, redactor, promotor… He writes poetry, prose, literary essays and other genres. He is the co-owner of publishing house Buybook, and his bibliography features novels, poetry and story collections LutkeSikamoraŠumski duhZimski zagrljaji and others, published between 1990 and 2015. He won several national and regional literary prizes for stories and novels, including two awards for book of the year by Bosnian Writers’ Association, and his prose has been selected for the anthology “Best European Fiction 2011”. He was shortlisted for numerous awards (Jutarnji list literary prize, The Meša Selimović Award…). His work has been translated to a number of foreign languages and included in anthologies. He lives in Sarajevo.
